Hi, everyone. I can't believe I'm starting a blog! Let's talk about K-pop! Have you heard about K-pop? Which popular groups have you heard about? There are plenty from different entertainment companies. I'm sure America has heard of BTS. There are a lot of groups that have amazing sound as well like EXO, MonstaX, Got7 etc. Who do you listen to?
Hey Wei, congrats on the blog! Personally I don’t know a lot about K-pop but I appreciate the music nonetheless. If I had to pick a favorite I would pick Alex Chu. He is the male vocalist of the South Korean electropop band Clazziquai. I knew of him through a Korean reality show back in 2009 called ‘we got married’ it was funny to watch to be honest. But I prefer his solo career honestly. Songs I like for him is called flowerpot and another one with the band called Romeo and Juliet.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing :)
Yeah! I've watched We Got Married too. Too bad the show was discontinued. It was interesting watching how some celebrities got along with each other. Thanks for the recommending him. I will check out his music!
DeleteWei,
ReplyDeleteI agree! Language is always changing and we have to learn to adapt to it. But you're also right that as teachers we need to consider to best way to help our students to communicate in a variety of contexts -- that means we have to first learn what their needs are (basic, conversational, academic English?) and what they'll be using the language for. And we need to learn how we can help them be more fluent in whatever context they find themselves in. It's a bit like getting them to recognize code-switching and register.
Great topic, Wei! And I love that you're focusing on connecting with students with a topic that motivates and engages them!
